Houston Police Shut Down Kanye West’s “New Slaves” Projection

While Kanye West announced more “New Slaves” projections across the world, Houston, TX wasn’t feeling it as the projection planned at the Rothko Chapel was stopped by police, who ordered everyone to leave or be arrested for trespassing. The Houston Chronicle further reports, that there were other projections planned in Houston — the George Bush Monument and the Central Library — but the library screening experienced “technical difficulties” whereas the monument was a “no show.”

ScHoolboy Q – Hell Of A Night

Heard around the NBA last night, a new song from ScHoolboy Q premiered during the NBA playoffs on TNT last night. A hard-hitting track that has all the raw appeal of a SchoolBoy Q record. The song was also produced by DJ Dahi, which may not appear on Oxymoron but it certainly has all the makings of a quality album record. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

Meek Mill – Levels

A lot of Meek Mill’s tweets as of late have also included “#itslevels2dissh*t.” Well it appears all this was a segue-way for his latest single today titled “Levels.” Braggadocios rhymes tailored just for the doubters and naysayers, the song overall has summer hit written all over it. Catch this on Meek’s long-awaited Dreamchasers 3 mixtape due out later this year. Press play below and let us know what you think.

TDE Signs New Member To Label?

When it comes to the Hip-Hop industry, Peter Rosenberg knows a thing or two that we all may not. The latest piece of inside information he’s decided to tease us with is the identity of a new Top Dawg Entertainment signee. Now, TDE, composed of Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock, is a tight-knit clique, focused on quality over quantity, so whoever this mystery “kid” turns out to be will undoubtedly have to bring some serious talent to the table. Check out Rosenberg’s tweet on the situation down below, and feel free to hit the comment section with your predictions on who it might be.

As a sidenote, Roseberg is also the one who broke the news about J. Cole’s rumored track “I Disappointed Nas,” which has since been cleared up by Cole himself in his recent sit down interview with SoulCulture, but we can’t all get everything right.

Buddy – Hypnosis

Having already shared a few collaborative tracks with the likes of Asher Roth, Pharrell and Kendrick Lamar, today iamOTHER signee Buddy drops off a brand new solo track titled “Hypnosis.” The up-and-coming emcee is currently working on his forthcoming mixtape Idle Time, and until he decides to shed some more information on it, we can continue to enjoy these one-off tracks in the mean time. Stream the Tom Jack-produced tune down below and enjoy.

A$AP Rocky Guest Stars on “The Show with Vinny”

As you may or may not know, the MTV reality show The Jersey Shore has branched into several spin-offs including Vinny Guadagnino’s “The Show with Vinny.” From what we’ve gathered, the show’s concept revolves around Vinny inviting celebrities over to his parent’s house and seeing what transpires. After inviting Lil Wayne over for the show’s premiere episode, this time around the Guadagnino’s set the dinner table for none other than A$ AP Rocky. Surprisingly, Vinny gives Rocky one of his better interviews in recent memory, where Rocky discussed the A$ AP movement, living in a shelter, and the definition of A$ AP. Check out the full episode down below, and for those interested in keeping up with series, the show airs on Thursday night’s on MTV.

Blu featuring Arima Ederra – Summertime (Produced by Bombay)

Blu‘s latest track is dedicated to the season we’re so close to approaching. “Summertime” features emcee Arima Ederra over the warm production of Bombay. This single is presumably off of Blu’s collaborative effort with Bombay titled Good To B Home. No release date has been given to the project as of yet. For now, we’ll have to be content with this latest offering from the LP and his two previous ones for it, “Dre Day” and “Rap Dope.”
