50 Cent Attempts To Cry On Cue In ‘American Gangster’ Audition Tape

50 Cent Signs Copies Of His Book "Formula 50: A 6-Week Workout and Nutrition Plan That Will Transform Your Life"

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Even rap superstars go through bad auditions some times. 50 Cent’s audition tape for 2007′s “American Gangster” has been leaked and shows the rapper trying to snag the role of a crony of drug kingpin Frank Lucas (played by Denzel Washington). In it, we see 50 attempting to cry on cue for an especially emotional moment.

Defamer, who acquired the footage, says the role ultimately went to Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is currently in the critical favorite “12 Years A Slave.”

50 Cent’s most infamous acting role is as Marcus in “Get Rich Or Die Tryin.’” According to his IMDB profile he has over 15 credits to his name and just completed another movie called “Vengeance.”

Recently, 50 took his star power to the small screen in Sundance Channel’s Dream School. The reality-based show highlights 15 high school kids with problems ranging from drug addiction to teen pregnancy. “Dream School” gives the kids the chance to finish their education with help from celebrity “mentors” like 50, Swizz Beatz and Reverend Jesse Jackson.

Kanye West Explains Why His ‘White Voice’ Comes Out

By Jason Brendler

Kanye West’s big news this week is that he’s now engaged to Kim Kardashian, but he recently sat down with The JV Show on San Francisco’s Wild 94.9  radio station to discuss a few topics that have been buzzing on the internet…including the “white voice” that comes out in some situations.

Ye discussed stunts such as bringing a “White Jesus” on stage during his Yeezus tour, along with the whole concept of naming his album Yeezus to begin with–and that’s because Jesus is one of his biggest heroes. “People want to be like Mike, I want to be like Christ,” said Kanye.

However, what was perhaps most intriguing was his idea of putting on a “white voice” in certain situations. The Chicago native explained that when he gets invited to certain dinner parties he wonders, “Are they inviting you because they really want to be a part of what I’m doing or are they inviting you so they can laugh at your teeth and ask you a million questions?” referencing his bottom grill, made of all gold and diamonds.

He explained that in some of those cases, the “white voice” or job interview voice comes out, also noting that it’s not as much about race as it is about class.

Here’s a stream of the new self-titled project from Mondre, Squadda and producer Tyneths. After the first draft of this project was lost on a harddrive crash, the trio hit the studio and recorded a whole new set of songs to replace it.

When describing the creative process, Tynethys explained it to be, “simple like the title. Drugs, a whole lotta tree, some brandy wit lemonade, some vodka, drugs, a keyboard, and a microphone … then repeat.”
